What is Move For 60?

An annual community event that invites everyone to move for 60 minutes with the Vipers Run Club in support of Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli. Participants will be running through World Mental Health Day for 60 hours to support local crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Located at
Queenscliff Beach, individuals or teams can run, jog or walk along the1km beachfront track to help make a difference. 60 minutes is all it takes!  

Not a runner? no worries. Create your own Move for 60 challenge – anytime, anywhere. Whether it is yoga, zumba, swimming or cycling – if you’re moving for 60, it counts!  

 

Where do the funds raised go?

While the name ‘Lifeline’ is national, Lifeline centres (like Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli) are locally run. Funds raised directly support the mental health of the Northern Beaches. By taking part in (or donating to) Move for 60, you'll be making a real difference. 

Move for 60 raises funds for Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli. These funds are used in our local crisis support and suicide prevention services right here in our local community.

Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli provides local face-to-face services including counselling, support groups, suicide bereavement support, financial counselling, social support for the aged, and emergency response to community events across the Mosman Council and Northern Beaches Council areas. 

Are donations tax deductible?

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. 

When is Move for 60 held?

Move for 60 starts at 4am on Thursday 9th October and goes continuously for 60 hours until 4pm Saturday 11th October. The 1km track is on the boardwalk at Queenscliff Beach. 

How can I support Move for 60?

There are five ways you can support Move for 60:

  1. Register as an individual or as a team and start fundraising for Lifeline Nothern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli
  2. Join a team and help with the fundraising
  3. Not a runner? No worries - you can create your own Move for 60 challenge during Mental Health Month - even virtually. 
  4. Donate to a team or directly to Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli ($2 and over is tax deductible)
  5. Share the event, particularly in support of the people who are fundraising for Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli 

Your support ensures we can continue bringing safety, connection and hope to our community, day or night – when it’s needed most – helping us work towards our vision of an Australia free of suicide.

Move for 60 is open to everyone. You can run, jog or walk – solo or as a team.

How do I enter Move for 60?

You can either register as an individual, team or join a team – click on ‘Register’ above. 

How many can be on a team?

You can have as many people on your team and helping you fundraise as you like – there are no limits! 

The Event

How does the event run?

Move for 60 starts at 4am on Thursday 9th October and will run continuosly until 4pm Saturday 11th October. 

You can set your own target but most people will run the track for 60 minutes. 

The Vipers Run Club will allocate running timeslots for all people participating in the event.

What happens if it is bad weather?

As an outdoor event, we can’t control the weather.

We run in all conditions but if for some reason
we can’t hold the event, we will let everyone know as early as possible. 

I am not a runner, can I still participate?

Absolutley! Move for 60 is for anyone. 

You can join the Vipers Run Club at anytime over the 60 hours - run, walk, ride, or even swim.

If you can't make it to Queenscliff between 9-11 October, you can create your own Move for 60 challenge in your own time and location that suits you. Think yoga, zumba or spin, anything goes, as long as you Move for 60!
