Donations
Is my donation tax deductible?
Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Anyone who donates $2 or more will automatically be emailed a tax-deductible receipt.
Are there different donation options?
- Financial donations: You can give online, in person and by mail.
- Volunteering: Contribute your time as a volunteer.
- Donate goods: Support by donating goods to their shops.
Where does my donation go?
- While the name ‘Lifeline’ is national, Lifeline Centres (like Lifeline Northern Beaches) are locally run. Our area for services are Palm Beach to Kirribilli as well as some of the Eastern Suburbs.
- Funds raised are used in our local crisis support and suicide prevention services.
- Lifeline Northern Beaches provides local face-to-face services including counselling, support groups, suicide bereavement support, financial counselling, social support for the aged, and emergency response to community incidents.
Can you donate offline?
- Yes, you can donate to Lifeline Northern Beaches via cheque/cash or money order.
- Please ensure your cheque or money orders are made payable to Lifeline Northern Beaches Inc. and send them to:
- Lifeline will send you a letter to acknowledge the funds were received to thank you for your valuable support.
Community Fundraising
Can I raise funds for Lifeline Northern Beaches?
Yes! Anyone can raise funds to support Lifeline Northern Beaches, the best place to start is our Fundraising Toolkit where you can get valuable advice.
Steps to create a fundraiser:
- Choose what type of fundraiser you would like to start, and create a personal or team page.
- Share your page easily with friends, family and colleagues via email and links for social media.
- Collect donations through your fundraising page. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Does Lifeline Northern Beaches help support my event?
- Answering any queries you have regarding your event and offer advice and encouragement.
- Under some circumstances and if time allows, we may be able to offer a staff member to appear at an event or cheque presentation.
- Providing a Lifeline banner or marketing collateral for use at your event (subject to availability).

The Cause
Why it's important to support Lifeline Northern Beaches?
Since 1968, Lifeline Northern Beaches has worked to prevent suicide and support mental health in our own backyard.
This year we celebrated a milestone 55 years of impact in our community, including 30 years providing companionship to aged care residents.
To date we have answered over 1,000,000 crisis calls, and helped reduce drivers of distress via thousands of counselling sessions.
Lifeline Northern Beaches funds all our community programs through partnerships, grants, retail, donations and fundraising efforts.
What services does Lifeline Northern Beaches offer?
- 24/7 Telephone Crisis Support via our national service.
- Face-to-face counselling.
- Financial counselling.
- Community Visitors Scheme (CVS).
- Support groups (including those for grief & loss, depression, and many other issues).
- Training on specific topics, such as Accidental Counsellor.
- Lifeline Shops where the local community can donate goods for re-sale, with the profits going to Lifeline – including an online store and our donation warehouse.
- Book Fairs and events that engage the local community and enable us to raise funds.
