It’s not always obvious when someone is struggling. But every day, right here on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and lower North Shore, there are people experiencing overwhelming distress. A young person under pressure. A parent dealing with financial strain. An older neighbour bereaved, and alone.
Every year, we answer over 50,000 calls from people in distress. Many are contemplating suicide. Most are facing their pain alone.
Thanks to our team of crisis supporters — and the generosity of people like you — there’s always someone to listen, day or night.
But demand is growing — and we need your help.
Each call costs $39 to answer. And every single year at Lifeline Northern Beaches, we rely on the kindness of our community to help us reach our goal of raising $200,000 to keep our Crisis Support Centre in Balgowlah running and our phone lines open.
Your support today means we can be there tomorrow. For someone you love, for anyone who needs us. Because you never know who might need support.
Together, we can bring connection and hope to our community, and build a future where suicide is no longer on the table.
Right now,
someone in our community is struggling to cope.
Please donate to help ensure there's always someone for them to talk to for support.

Every day, we lose nine Australians to suicide.
It’s something Will’s determined to change.

For Will, becoming a crisis supporter was deeply personal. He’s lost five friends to suicide. Friends he expected to grow old with.
Sadly, his story isn’t unique. 1 in 6 Australians aged 16-85 have experienced suicidal thoughts.
“Adversity doesn’t discriminate. Lifeline is incredibly important, because it’s a safe space to talk.”
With every call he answers, Will helps to provide critical moments of safety, connection and hope — right when it’s needed most.
“It’s incredibly powerful to hear someone’s voice shift from distress to calm. To know that, just by listening, you’ve helped.”
Crisis supporters like Will are available to listen 24/7 — for anyone, at any time, for any reason. But they can only do this vital work with your support.

supporting locals.
The impact you make possible.

None of this would have been possible without generosity from our local community. When you donate, your impact is felt right here.
